Last time I drove up Porlock there was a sizeable layby at the top to pull into let the engine cool down
Let's be careful out there !

When going down a steep hill; when the battery indicator shows full, change to D drive or else you will get high revving in B drive.

In Norway during the summer holidays I drove through a steep tunnel connecting Kristiansund to the mainland. It went down 200 or 250 m, then up again 200 or 250 m at a 10% grade (so a long tunnel; about 4 miles). 80 kmph was allowed. When going up, the engine revved up slightly to about 2500 rpm and the battery assisted. About halfway up the battery assist slowly diminished and the engine revved much higher. I reckon, based on sound etc. that 90 or 95 kmph (60ish miles an hour) must ultimately have been the mk4 top speed at 10% inclines. That was the only time the engine sounded loud. Also, radio reception was blocked so far below ground…

Porlock hill may be steep  but its very  short  - less than 4km long.

The Transfaragasian in Romania is 151 km long (94 miles) .The Jazz  went over the pass  as easy as winkie.  Climbed  strongly , No excessive noise going up or coming down  , no overheating   and descended in D  without the brakes overheating.    I saw brown bears but no EV charging points.

A bit different to Lincolnshire  ;D  . The Transalpina also in Romania is said to be even better. Hope to cross it soon.       Romania is well worth a visit.  Some  lovely scenery and well preserved Medieval towns etc.     Such as Sighisoara  the birth place of the real life Vlad the Impaler, son of Vlad ll Dracul  .    (a couple of castles elswhere  claim to be the Fictional  Vampires  castle  -Nonsense of course but Scenic. )
