Drivers seat
« on: July 01, 2023, 09:46:59 AM »
How can I get the drivers seat either changed or refurbished.
I tend to wreck seats after a few years.

Have you tried a scrap yard or perhaps somewhere like eBay?

If you cant find a breaker with a scarce Jazz  try entering  your requirement on a used spares sourcing site.  Various scrap yards may contact you with their price. If they are not local enough to collect  they are used to despatching bulky car parts  at reasonable cost, using a specialist carrier.

Or for some jobs a car upholstery/trimmer may be cost effective  - or not   .

If its just the fabric thats damaged, try seat covers from https://individualautodesign.co.uk/

Not only do they look great, they are reasonably easy to fit* and also firm the seats up a little.

* They are not that difficult, but they are made to measure, so need firmly pulling into place. Once fitted they dont move at all (well, ours havent)

Ask around your local Garage Paint Tyre estate, the trade will use vehicle upholsterers.
Have your own seat treated to a refresh

Im going to get a cushion to put on top of the seat and I have also bought a new tyre pressure gauge as mine is erratic.
I have owned it a few years now but lately its been oribble to drive as I feel every bump even through the steering wheel.
There was no problems with the MOT

Tyre age can be a real issue. I changed the tyres up front on my Jazz, even though the old Michelin tyres still had >3mm of tread. I found a deal on newTOYO Proxes Comfort @£55ea, and they made a huge difference to the ride and handling. They really do stick to the road.

I changed the fronts to Dunlops after a kerb ripped the side wall but still have the original Michelins on the back.
If I keep the car so may change the backs before they are due

I bought a seat cushion which smooths out the bumps but they are still there and it dont feel right.
All I can think of is that I have flat spotted the tyres as I have not been using it much lately.
The only answer to that is to give it a long drive

Something I have noticed in the past is that a full tank gives a smoother ride.
So a bit of a drive with a full tank seems to have done the trick
