Honda dealer service plan
« on: August 06, 2021, 08:48:59 AM »
Hi, I have a service plan with the last service outstanding, does anyone know if I sell the vehicle can I get a refund or can it be transferred to the new owner?
Obviously would prefer a refund.
Has anyone tried maybe.  Thanks.

I don't believe you can get any refund, but it stays with the car and can be transferred to the new owner, so increasing the resale value of your car.

My 2009 Civic had a 4 year plan and I p/x after 3 years and the last service, paid for, went with the car.
Let's be careful out there !

On Dec 2020 I bought privately a 2018 Jazz which had a three year service plan with one outstanding.  The owner informed Honda of change of ownership and in June this year I had my free service.
I understand that had the previous owner not informed Honda then I would not have got the free service.
So yes the service plans are transferable but read the small print.

My 2012 jazz came wioth 5 years pre paid. I did nothing : it transferred with the car.

As I understand it, the Plan is associated with the car , not the owner.
Mine had 5 years unused  :)

As I understand it, the Plan is associated with the car , not the owner.
That's also my understanding. The dealer services the vehicle and sends the bill to Honda. Whoever is the vehicle's owner / keeper doesn't get involved.
