Toyota have just announced a new 10 year warranty, called Relax.

May take some Honda sales ?

Seems that you get the standard 3 year warranty then if the car gets serviced at a franchised dealer, they add another year, up to 10.

Yeh all well and good but at what cost. Also worth a note is that Honda extended warranty services must be carried out by a franchised dealer otherwise warranty will be void

Studies show the Toyota lean production system  delivering  reliable cars made from proven components and  low  after-sales warranty costs,  cost efficiencies  give Toyota high profit margins, the productivity of a Toyota employee in terms of cars/employee per annum is double the figure  of  rival  VW group. It is no surprise Toyota can offer owners a 10 year warranty. Toyota can swallow those costs in their finances, costs which would cause their competitors to gag and choke over red ink on the balance sheet.
