Installating USB socket on 2008-2015 ESi

On a ESi, no Usb is available accept aux socket. During this lockdown, I found my old iPod and found it quite useful but plugging the aux means the sound quality isn't good and long wire gets in the way.

So I gathered there is no USB ADAPTOR MODULE INTERFACE on my stereo and obviously no USB slot next to my 12v socket. Looking at eBay, I can get the two for around £70. Is it worth doing? Or are there any alternatives?
