I found that when I starting AA from my phone when WiFi and Bluetooth disabled in phone settings , AA itself turning on Bluetooth and then WiFi after establishing Bluetooth connection with car infotainment
And that eliminates all problems with wireless AA connection.
If WiFi and Bluetooth enabled in phone settings  when you powering on  car the infotainment connecting to phone using Bluetooth then WiFi of infotainment starts and phone connects to it but AA not starting.

I think this requirement to have various phone settings disabled then re-enable them sounds a faff.

As much as I'd like wireless Android I think I'll pass.
Let's be careful out there !

Yes with CarPlay all working flawlessly, just connects and works, but iPhone cost too much at last for me  :)

I just like the way music starts streaming from my phone when I switch the car's sound system on. I have a Google Pixel 4A 5G Android phone on an EE contract that gives me 100GB a month, so I just have Spotify streaming on my phone via Bluetooth the whole time and enjoy the music as soon as I get in the car. What I also like is that when I switch the car infotainment system off and turn the car off, the music streaming on my phone pauses until I am back in the car. Then when I switch the car's systems on again the music resumes. Neat.

I now have a handle on the Android Auto wireless problems. If your phone can connect to an existing WiFi access point that it knows about, Android Auto wireless will fail to connect. If it's not connected to any other WiFi, it works.

...I assume this has changed since this was posted as AA Wireless works just fine even though my phone can still see my home WIFI when sat on the drive.
It works flawlessly on the HR-V when it was flaky on the Jazz.
I guess Honda changed something between models if the Jazz is still having problems.

It was a post on another forum about HRV Android Auto wireless that prompted me to find this thread

It seems the owner of a 2023 HRV didn't have AA wireless enabled by default

...No, I didn't either.
I assume nobody does (UK and or Europe, not sure) by design from Honda I guess.

It's doubtful many sales people at the dealers know anything about the hidden menu you need to access to switch it on.

IIRC it's a deliberate move by Honda as not all Android phones are compatible and not all countries allow Android Auto wireless for whatever reason
Let's be careful out there !

I turned off Carplay in the hidden menu as suggested previously, still flaky connection for Android Auto.
Sometimes it connects out of the blue, then it connects for the next few days, then nothing. One time it connected, I drove to the shops, when I returned to the car it didn't connect. If I connect using the USB cable, after that it seems to  connect wirelessly for the next few journeys. One time it didn't connect, then I rested the phone on top of the screen and it then connected.  It didn't work the next time I tried that though. :-[

I also found wireless to be hit and miss

I decided to give cable connect a go and in comparison it's so quick and reliable, connects in seconds, even before the start/settings nag screen has appeared

Original perceived snag was that my music on a USB stick was not possible so I moved it all onto my phone and installed Android VLC on the phone and it works just like a USB stick in every respect ..... win / win

I've disabled Android Auto Wireless from the car several months ago, due to issues like the one described above
I've switched to AAWireless dongle, it's far more reliable, sometimes it may take more time than usual to connect, but it always connects.

Grazie di tutto. È perfetto.
Non capisco perché honda tiene bloccato Android auto wireless...chissà perché
