...If you do flatten your battery doing that, then just leave the car for an hour or two and the 48v system will charge it back up again.

Absolutely not true. The AA (Honda Assist) man who came out to sort out the flat battery on my Crosstar reported that this is a complete myth.  He also reported that whereas they are allowed a nominal ten minutes for flat battery cases, hybrids are taking a lot longer to resolve in my case it was an hour before he could proceed to his next call out.

...Absolutely what happened.

If it was dead then why didn't the HV replenish the 12v battery sooner ?

...Sooner than what?

From how I understood your post, you're saying that the 12v battery goes flat through non use, and only then the HV battery charges it ?

I don't understand that logic. If the vehicle is monitoring the 12v battery when idle then it would stop it going flat.

The only time the 12v battery is charged by the car is when it's powered up, not standing idle.

...It was from the original post about being sat in the car, messing with settings. Not paying attention to how long it was and finding the battery had gone flat. That's why I mentioned if playing with settings in the future I would start the car after 10 mins just to prevent it going flat again!

Got ya :)

Fully agree, and when I did my initial setup I had the car powered up and as I was fiddling, the engine cut in and out as required.

Accessory mode is risky, especially with the MK4 tiny battery.
Let's be careful out there !
