Driving Warning Light
« on: January 24, 2022, 09:06:11 AM »
Can anyone with a similar age Jazz help please?

I am sure that the dashboard warning light for the "driving" lights used to come on, even when the headlamps were not on. Now, it only comes on when the headlamps are on (ie I only have either both warning lights on or none)

Am I going doolally, or has anyone else had this - would really appreciate hearing what happens on other Jazz Mk4's? Its only a minor thing but its doing my head in!!

Cheers

John

I quite agree. Mine does the same. Very strange. I never know when the lights are on. I leave them on auto.

If your auto dipped lights come on then you should get the green notification to the right of the speedo.

Are you sure it's not the fog light notification?

Let's be careful out there !

I've just re-read the OP properly.

IIRC he's saying he used to get the green notification when DRL's only were on?

If so, then, no, the dash green light goes out when the dipped lights go out when on auto.
Let's be careful out there !

When you first start up, there is a green light, (top RH corner) with an 'A' in it, which momentarily comes on, to show that the lights are set to Auto. There is no light to show that the DRLs are on (they come automatically with startup).
The green light (mid RH side) indicates that Headlights/Rear lights are On.

...I thought the green 'A' was auto high beam assist?

My Auto High Beam Assist is switched Off, so I believe I'm correct in saying the the green 'A' is related to the Auto lighting function.
I would have thought anything to do with High Beam would have been shown in Blue, similar to the normal High Beam indicator.

...I thought the lights were automatically auto?
It wouldn't make sense to flash up at start when that is the only position they can be in.
I still think the 'A' is for auto high beam assist as when you perform a slightly prolonged 'flash' of the lights you can turn it off for the duration of that journey. When dong this the 'A' disappears from the screen.
Full beam is indeed blue as you mention when in operation but green when in 'ready mode'

My apologies Shufty, Referring to page 106 of the online manual, the green 'A' light does indeed relate to the Auto High Beam Assist.
However not really sure why I see the light on start-up, since I have the facility switched Off, in Settings.

I think a lot of lights temporarily fire up at start just to confirm they are still working ?

Then they go out if not needed.
Let's be careful out there !
