Rear wash wipe.
« on: November 14, 2017, 01:42:46 PM »
I have had my GD5 Jazz for 18 months now, and never NEEDED to use the rear wash wipe. My rear screen just never gets dirty. I have used the wash wipe, just to see what it does, but if it wasn't there I wouldn't miss it. Even today, after 100 miles on dirty, damp, dual carriageways and motorway (gritting in progress here these nights), the rear screen is still clean.
I know some cars really need them. I hired a 90's FIAT Tipo once, and you needed to use the wash wipe about once every mile!
Anyone else find the same, with their Jazz?

Jocko, has your Jazz got rear mudflaps fitted?
My previous Jazz's all had mudflaps but my current one doesn't and the difference is very noticeable.
The mudflaps definitely are an improvement.

Vic.

No, no mudflaps at all.

I have mudflaps fitted and the screen still gets dirty, which begs the question, are mudflaps the reason?

I have the mudflaps (mk2) and there's a little improvement on the rear screen, i think... Since i put them on the car i have never used screen wash on the rear screen.
But the lower sides of the car and rear bumper benefit much more from the mudflaps, they are staying a lot cleaner!

Dual carriageway or motorways (overtaking slow lorries) in wet conditions means the rear screen gets dirty as the general dampness swirls in the air and travels along with you, at least I have the intermittent version but that is a bit too frequent to leave on.
