Remote remote fob advice

Hello i have just bought a 2002 jazz for my wife.
The car came with only 1 key & 1 remote fob.
The key i can sort out ok but need some advice about the fob.
The fob is grey in colour with 2 buttons on it "lock/unlock" but the label on the back is missing.
I would like to know how i can find out what number i require so i can buy another as a spare for her.
My neighbour has a jazz and on his fob it reads G8D etc etc.
How can i find out what the G8D number is that i require so it will be the same as what i have.
I did call the honda dealer but they would not tell me just wanted me to part with ££££

Hi,

I have a 02 Jazz also with only 1 remote fob (2 keys). The number has come off the back of my fob too. There are always remote fobs like this that come up for sale on Ebay. I believe you can get them reprogrammed to match your car. This can be done by Honda or a good Auto Electrician maybe.

Hi,
I did look on ebay but there is a few different numbers and i have been told they will not programme on any model that uses the 2 button fob.
I was told you need the correct one for the jazz in question.
This then led me here trying to find out how i would be able to confirm what should be on the label that has now been removed.
