  • My Honda: 2009 1.4 EX Manual - gone to a family member. Still look after it, and a 2014 EX driven by daughter.

Honda are in danger pricing themselves out of the small car market.

Agree on this - I replaced "our" (really wifey's, but I use it around town too) Jazz in a bit of a rush.  Mrs R wasn't bothered about looking at anything else so rather than mess round I just bought another Jazz.

It was only in thinking about it afterwards that for what we paid for a 1.4EX I could have been looking at  a Golf, and I actually think I preferred the old Jazz.

I replaced my old Jazz in a bit of a rush also. I acted in haste and now I’m repenting at leisure. I definitely preferred the old Jazz; I think it was a better car.

Ahh...looking at prices over there and germany ... etc. always make me angry why everything have to be so expensive over here in Slovenia. Jazz ex for example costs here 17k € (catalog price).
In relation with our minimal monthly wage which is like 600 € (average like 1k €) this is a lot.
New prices are not available over here yet.

I had a 1.2 S A/C today as a loan car whilst my GD was in for a service.

Nothing really much to say next to the pre-facelift cars. I find the restyled bumper fussy but on the whole the Jazz is still a stylish small car. On the road it is very much the same with no noticeable differences so I don't think Honda have made any changes under the skin. Next to the '07 GD model the steering is much better, the handling more pointy but the ride - although less bouncy - picks up more ruts and ridges in the road.

Inside there is really very little changes. The new black-on-red radio displays looks dated but even this low-spec model now has a reach adjustable steering column.

It's all pretty much business as usual as with the pre-facelift cars - more fun than a Vauxhall Corsa but a Mazda2 (and presumably the Ford Fiesta) would whip its backside on the road. However nothing else can touch it for interior space.

CVT is back, good, however, too late for me, nice new Golf sitting on the drive.  :D

Even after the rumours started about the possible return of CVT the dealers were (up until very recently) insisting that it wasn't true and that Honda were commited to the dreadful i-shift, as such I went ahead and spent my £22k on a nice Golf.

I don't think I'll return to the Honda brand as they and their dealers are far too far up themselves, if you get my drift.  ::)
[/b]

you obviously not been back to your vw dealer yet for servicing, they are the worst by far, and think they sell bentlleys by the price of the service they charge. that was the reaso i got my 04 civic and now the jazz because the polo and golf i had new had so many faults it was a discrace especially the golf with seven return trips to the dealer with faults not including the trips for normal servicing

"- Reduced CO2 emission figures and improved fuel consumption"

That explains why the 2012 courtesy car I had while my CR-V was in for repair was so good on fuel and drove really nicely, while the 2009 EX I bought (due to liking the courtesy car so much) does at least 10 mpg less than the courtesy car did and also has the longest gearing I've ever come across!
