Today marks the start of production of the new Civic model at Swindon and the announcement of the creation of 500 new jobs to meet the forecasted demand.

The plant will return to a two shift pattern next spring after the shift reduction following the Japanese earthquake.

Yes, i heard this on the news yesterday. Good to hear. Nice the jspanese support the uk with numerous plants here.... unlike peugueot who sacked there workforce in the UK and moved full production to france a few years back....

Well done Honda Swindon - full marks for thinking outside of the box during all the recent problems.

The new 'Swindon' Civic will be a world class winner.
