Clock resets itself
« on: September 19, 2022, 07:02:23 PM »
Hi, I have a 2014 Jazz 1.2 S. The clock in the car seems to reset itself to 1:00 when I switch on the ignition. I had the battery off whilst doing a steering wheel change, but even after I set the time correctly, switch off the ignition and back on again and its set to 1:00 and flashing.

Also, the radio has lost the code. If I get the serial number on screen and press 6, 5 and 2, the radio comes back on, but only until I switch off the ignition.

Battery is connected perfectly and holds a perfect charge.

Anyone got any ideas?

Not sure about your car details, but I've come across that type of clock reset issue on a bike. It had a fused circuit which keeps the clock powered with the ignition off, but also uses a supply from the ignition which gives illumination etc. If the first fuse goes it does the reset since it loses power when ign is off. Maybe your car is like this, a separate fuse for memory retaining (clock and radio)??

I seem to have fixed this. Once I got the radio code sorted, I then set the clock, and all is working fine now.

I used this site to get the 5-digit radio code
