So, at maximum power 109hp, the EV motor is pulling circa 470 amps from the battery, that’s more than conventional starter motor current  :o

However, in those conditions, the vast majority of those Amps will be drawn from the engine/generator, with only any shortfall in requirements being made up by the battery.

I have to say, I do on occasion make use of those Amps, EG up slip roads to join main roads etc.

My understanding is that the HV battery is 12cells @3.6v x 4 modules = 3.6x12x4 = 172.8V
Good answer: Honda's info says 173V https://www.techinfo.honda-eu.com/documents/22251/47342/Honda_Jazz_Euro-NCAP-sheet_ENG_s_V2.pdf .

I want to add that there is lack of data about hybrids in general. For example, how much fuel you have to consume or what distance you have to drive to charge the current battery from 0 to 100%?
Watching this explanatory video will help you understand the design philosophy underlying Honda's eHEV system where one function of the battery is to help keep the engine operating in its most efficient zone as much as possible.

In New Zealand the Jazz hybrid battery warranty applies to the first 5 years of battery life; in contrast the Toyota hybrid battery warranty is 8 years.
I was concerned about this but went with the Jazz for other reasons such as cabin space and driver seat comfort. Hopefully in the next 4 years batteries will become cheaper and cheaper.

Interesting article here: https://www.energy.gov/sites/prod/files/2015/02/f19/batteryCivic1260.pdf
on testing of smaller blue energy Lion battery pack.

Also testing here: https://avt.inl.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/hev/end_of_life_test_1.pdf
on effect of battery degradation of earlier Honda insights.

Hope I've done the links properly!

Interesting conclusions i.e.

"The results for the end-of-life (160,000 miles) static battery testing suggest that the two Civics have
remaining battery capacities of about 68% and the two Insights have remaining battery capacities of
about 85%. The two end-of-life Priuses have remaining battery capacities of about 39%".

Maximum that I seen is 18 kilowatt when accelerating smoothly in town (24hp) when moving on battery, if you asking for more power from car the ICE engine  powers on to add power that goes in traction motor in addition to watt’s battery can supply .
our battery can deliver/ accept up to 300a
