Some questions about the 1400 Sport version
« on: July 22, 2022, 02:33:51 PM »
Some questions about the 1400 Sport version:

1) In your experience, did the 1400 Sport version remain in production until 2008 with both manual and automatic transmission?

2) What is the difference between these 2 versions in attach?
Mk1 Sport First Realese?
Mk1 Sport End Realease?

Really thanks.

1) Yes.

2) The first car probably isn't a Sport but a pre-facelift (or 1.2) Jazz with dealer-fit bodykit and Sport alloys. The second car is the actual Sport model sold from 2004 to 2008.

(Specs and trim names may vary from country to country though).

Hi Richard.

Thanks for your reply.

Confirm that all mk1 release are euro 4 (no euro 5 also for 2008 version)?

Thanks!

As far as I'm aware the Jazz Mk1 is Euro 4.

Hi Richard.

For your experience how to find out if a Jazz has reduced mileage?

Unfortunately, this practice is very widespread in Italy and I was wondering if it was easy with the Jazz to reduce the kilometers marked on the odometer.

Really thanks.

There is no way to tell. In theory the mileage can be changed using a laptop and the right software.

In the UK you can check the mileage recorded for each past MOT test (annual inspection) online, but there is always the risk that an MOT tester mistyped the mileage. Is there such a system in Italy?

The other thing to check is service receipts if the previous owner includes them.

Hi Richard.

In the forum title i see:

Quote
Honda Jazz Mk1 2002-2008
The first generation Honda Jazz and Fit from 2002 to 2008. GD1-GD9 & GE2-GE3 chassis codes.

I see GD1 in my Jazz 2004 VIN (see attachment).
But what Mk1 2002-2008 model use GD9 or GE2 and GE3?
Sorry if I'm curious

Yes, but it is not reliable.

Thank you.

There was a City and an Airwave, a saloon and an estate version of the Jazz/Fit so perhaps those designators are used there.
