There's already moans from the 'I demand a manual gearbox' brigade.

As 2030 approaches and all UK new cars will be EV they need to accept 2 pedals is the future.

As for me, the Civic has gone from a medium sector car to a large family so too big for me.
Let's be careful out there !

One thing I’ve noticed from Honda marketing:

Jazz - RDMS

HRV - improved RDMS

Civic - further improved RDMS

A software update for jazz would be good, according to Honda we are two behind now.

20 or more years ago it was a small car: There's not much difference in size or appearance between the last of the small Civics and the Mk 1 Jazz.

The size and profile will result in it being a lower drag, better motorway cruiser than the Jazz.

What the RDMS stands for?

I only go out when it's quiet and I can cut corners to smooth the drive. That often involves driving over white lines and as I've posted before, I don't see the point in driving along Scalextric style when I can see a clear road for hundreds of yards both front and back.

No matter what they do to RDMS I'll be turning it off.

The engine seems to be very similar to the one in the CRV with around 180hp hybrid.

I was surprised to find that you can actually get a base CRV for the same price as a higher model HRV.

I have just been on a long trip mostly on fast winding  B roads with a  centre line. I deliberately put RDMS to the test by straightening bends even more than I usually  do. I frequently crossed  the centre line, drove  on the wrong  side to see round bends etc. Without using indicators.

Not once did RDMS react to my  crossing the centre line .

The steering only twitched slightly 2 or 3 times on the whole trip, but in other circumstances where intervention was to be expected.

Lets hope the Jazz can be upgraded just by a software update.  But the later cars may have upgraded camera hardware.

That seems very peculiar to me! :o There must be something very wrong.
RDMS in our Jazz does exactly what you can/should expect when you steer across the line or almost into the verge.

There seems to be quite a variation in the quality of safety sense systems between different Jazz models for ACC, RDMS and LKAS - some owners are having completely different experiences.

Maybe different software / hardware versions? When I asked about a software update for mine, they said there wasn't one.

My RDMS will pitch you away from what it thinks as the road edge, or from a white centre line.

Exactly! The same as ours! As it should be!
