Latest fill data.

Lower mpg due to low ambient and very speedy motorway trip required. Accumulatie mpg dipped below 54.

I haven't filled up since 16th December! That said I think I am on course for my lowest ever mpg in the MK 4. The fibometer is showing 50.4 mpg which, in real terms, will turn out to be 46 (ish).

The weather, coupled with my driving profile this winter, is almost uniquely bad for mpg. Yes hybrids are good round town but not if it's freezing outside and you are burning petrol to keep the car warm. Couple that with a typical journey of no more than 3 or 4 miles, often less and you are never going to get anywhere near 60 mpg.

But a bit of perspective, 46 mpg is 3 mpg better than my overall average in the MK3 so I have to be pleased with that.
