It seems a couple of topics regarding radio unlock codes has bubbled up the Google rankings recently. Several requests have been made by single post users with no other engagement in the forum. If the volume increases rapidly should this service be withdrawn?
The Mk2/GE having a radio unlock code has always been a bit bizarre, incidences of OEM radio theft are rare and it mostly seems like an inconvenience to second owners with flat or replaced batteries. There is no real second hand market in the units as there is no upgrade path in original radios except for faulty units that are replaced by salvaged ones. I feel we are not facilitating any unlawful activity but don't want a swarm of single post users looking for unlock codes.
Additionally, I can't pass on the code generator as it does not belong to me, it came from one of the main dealer groups.

The codes are supplied free from Honda dealers, provided you have proof of ownership of the vehicle. It is not as though the codes are impossible to get. Giving the codes to regular contributors is a great service, and saves any inconvenience and possible delay.

As it stands now I'm happy for members to provide this service providing it's all legal. I'll leave it up to those with the code generator to decide at their discretion when to provide unlock codes to other members.

As TG no longer visits Clubjazz I've decided to lock the Radio Code topic.
