How do I fit a radio/cd player, or arrange for mp3/ipod to play through existing radio/cassette player
-
Try a google search for “Honda Jazz Ipod”
A few options out there to attach to the cd changer port on the back of the radio

Thanks Hatecbn,
Do you know if it is possible to replace existing factory radio/cassette with factory radio/cd player (I have found several used units with breakersyards etc)

I have just had the same problem changing my factory fit cassette player for a CD player. I tried every where for a fascia adapter to fit my own aftermarket stereo. After purchasing one on eBay I have found you can get an adapter

I have now received my CD player but am unable to fit it as it has the newer style square aerial plug. I have managed to order one and these can be found at-

Removing the old stereo was fun and would not recommend it if you are a complete novice!

Thanks Bob R & Lanciauk,
Not really what I am looking for. All I want to do is replace an existing factory radio/cassette unit with a factory radio/cd player. Is it feasible and are there any problems with the connections between old cassette and new cd player?

That is exactly what I have just done! I bought a used factory fit player off eBay. The new unit plugs straight in. The only problem is the later type players have a diffrent style areial connector (square and not round) and therfore requires an adapter. Hope this helps.

Thanks Lanciauk,
I got a little confused, when you talked about an ‘aftermarket player’, rather than a ‘factory player’. If what you say is true, then I can go ahead and fit a factory radio/cd player to replace the existing radio/cassette player and will only need an aerial adapter to make the whole thing work.
Is this correct ?

Yes plugs straight in. I only need an adapter as I am fitting a 2006 player in a 2003 car.

I have a new boxed connector to run a CD/MD/MP3 or which we bought for our Jazz but did not use - PM me if you are interested.

Result !!
After a little headscratching, the change from cassette player to CD player went very well. I got the Jazz CD player from a Japanese car breaker in Oldham for £100, and following your advice, obtained the aerial adaptor from Blue Spot. The only difficult part of the operation was re-routing the air conditioning wires. However, a beautiful factory-fit CD player is now working well, at a fraction of the price you would have to pay a Honda dealer, or car audio specialist. Many thanks to “lanciauk” for all your valuable advice.
