Picked up my new Jazz yesterday.
First automatic; first hybrid; new car in 11 years (coming from Hyundai i20), so lots of mod cons to get used to. Very pleased so far....
However....I never expected the parking sensors to be so humungously painfully ear-piercingly loud!!!!
I know I can turn them off completely....but is there a way of turning down the volume? or muting volume and having visuals only?

I agree, but I think you may be able to set the volume in the settings,,,,,

Yes you can set the alarm volume in settings . see page 154 and 157 of the on line manual.
This also includes other things which you may not want to change such as turn indicators . I've never used it so I dont know if you can change each type individually.

If I were to stereotype Jazz owners I would have expected more wanting to turn them up ;D

Thanks to everyone for their replies.
I have located the system volume settings and set it to "minimum" (actually did that sat at the dealership before I drove off!).....
...and if that is minimum...OMG how loud are the others!!
I have to add though that I do have hypersensitive hearing (probably unlike the demographic of most Jazz owners....... ), especially to beeping noises, so expected a little discomfort...however not outright pain!
I am used to wearing earplugs a lot, so ramming those in my ears as far as they go has helped reduce the noise.
However, if anyone else has any tips please share!

If your model has the rear Multiview camera you might find it better just to turn the parking sensors off.
Personally I find the camera sufficient for reversing into parking spaces. Not yet used it in very bad weather that may affect the camera visibility ,but this could affect sensors as well. As for front sensors, well call me old fashioned, but I actually look out of the front windscreen myself. .
I do leave my sensors on, but there have been times when deliberately reversing into long grass,near soft foliage, or out of a gateway, that the system lights up like a Christmas tree with flashing lights,and beeping .Information overload at times, especially when I know from also looking round and in the rear camera that there is no problem and plenty of space.
I do like the cross traffic monitor on the EX but probably wouldnt upgrade specially if thats all you get.
I dont know if the bleeper is just that - a standalone beeper rather than integrated into a loud speaker thats needed for other things.. If you can locate it and get access maybe you could physically muffle the sound in some way. (But it would be unfair to the next owner not to reverse it when the car is sold)

I am 40 (so younger than Jazz demographic lol) and have super sensitive heating also, but find no issue with the beeping volume level. All good for me.

When I got my 2007 Civic parking sensors wern't standard but dealer fit.
The beeper was designed to be fitted at the rear, in the boot, with a suitable volume level, but the muppets fitted it under the dash and that was loud.

Checked my 'beeper' settings and I'd already reduced them to Min
Shame they can't be set individually, parking sensors down but indicators up.
