Turn down music volume when parking.
« on: October 19, 2021, 02:51:12 PM »
Hello, I am a crosstar ex owner from Turkey for a month. I am very satisfied in overall. The refinement of the ride and the simplicity of the interior give peace. Of course, fuel consumption makes you happy.
My only question is if the music volume is automatically turned down during parking. Is this feature not available in the vehicle? I couldn't find it in settings.

Just press the Audio button to turn it off is the simplest solution.
Let's be careful out there !

Yes, that's what I'm doing. It's not a big deal, but I'm surprised that jazz doesn't have a simple feature that every car has . Maybe  will be added in a future update.

...I've never heard of that feature.

There is speed sensitive volume in the MK2, which does work but perhaps not to the extent you are implying.

The purpose is to hear the sound of the parking sensor.

Turning radio off while parking may be a safety feature rather than a simple convenience to hear parking sensor - it may allow you to hear the pedestrian yelling when you have pinned them against the wall.

Absolutely I agree.  When we hear the parking sensor, we will have noticed the pedestrian without having to yell

Hi

Our jazz is older and I changed head unit to a different one then Honda head unit with help from this forum

When we select reverse, the head unit sound goes to a whisper mode but you can still hear it. Take gear out of reverse and head unit sound reverts back to sound level previous

I think that is what the op was asking for

Many thanks

John

Hi,
On my Skoda Yeti when you select reverse the radio volume is reduced to a whisper, I assumed so that the “beepers” could be easily heard - but perhaps it was to hear the shrieks of pedestrians!

Ditto Karoq.
Honda seem to leave off a few useful and commonly fitted extras, such as Headlight washers.

I used to cover 25 to 30K a year,  and never ever saw the need for headlight washers,  and even less need  now with cool running LED headlights that do not bake the gung onto the headlight lens..

I also covered 30k a year whilst working and I too, never found the need for headlight washers and I still don't!.
I was merely making the point at whilst most manufacturers now fit headlight washers, Honda do not.

Headlight washers were mandatory in the UK with HID's

Looks like LED's aren't

Any type or headlights sub 2,000 lumens don't need washers by law.
