£120pa for wife's Yaris D4d. 1000 miles pa.
Swinton

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to take a taxi than to tax, test, maintain and insure a car to do 1,000 miles per annum?

I’m not trying to be controversial. It’s a genuine question.

We have a multi-car policy with LV, very good value and my son recently had a bump, all sorted out by LV quickly and efficiently.

And hire a car for longer journeys.
It probably would be.
I think it's a convenience thing and car ownership is tied in to the psyche now.
Perhaps the younger generation are not so obsessed with car ownership.
Again not trying to be controversial.

The Yaris is 18 years old so worth say £1k and I diy. RFL is £35
Total running costs are less than £300 so 30p per mile.

Convenience and most journeys in evening .

You will find out how good your insurers are only when you make a claim. Be careful out there.

Yes, indeed. Always check the small print. Despite what many seem to believe, they are not a charity. The only free cheese is in a mousetrap.

Yes but only ~£20
Over 50s policy.
I find it infuriating that you have to go through the same procedure every year. I suppose it keeps people in a job designing the systems to work out quotes and respond to queries.
To cancel my Churchill policy I went through a procedure of conversing with a machine by computer which ended up with me scanning a QR code on my phone continuing a conversation on WhatsApp and then waiting till the next day for confirmation.
What's wrong with a loyalty bonus?
My house insurance is due for renewal next month. I'm already getting emails from the companies I got quotes from for car insurance.

About 10 miles N of Stoke on Trent - a mile from the Cheshire/Staffordshire border but in Staffordshire.
(Rates double in Cheshire)
