2022 mk4 Hybrid EX:
How can I disable the alarm when I need to leave our dog inside the vehicle? Typically, this would be to visit a shop when the dog is with me or to pay for fuel.

Unless your dog can open the door from the inside, then the alarm won’t go off as there is no interior space sensor. If it is clever enough to open the door, then double press on the handle or remote will superlock the doors to prevent that.

After I posted my question I found a thread discussing the same question. Thank you for a nice concise answer without going into a dog welfare discussion.  :D
