In early 2009 I started tracking my fuel consumption on Spritmonitor. Simply out of curiosity.
I don't know why those other nearly 700,000 people are doing the same thing as me and I really don't care.

Spritmonitor.de
Database statistics:

.1.017.186 vehicles
.697.826 users
.40.257.954 fuel ups
.20.499.816.165 km
.1.528.059.663 l of gas

Well I tried to inflate 38 psi front and 36 psi rear(allowed pressure for our car if speed over 160km/h expected), I tried also 40 psi front and 38 rear, and not seen any improvement in MPG
Interesting
After cleaning brake disks from rust I found that  car coasting bigger distance without dropping speed, and accelerating with ECON ON better then before , I should try to inflate tyres to 38 psi front and 36 psi rear now   ;D but also now I starting to get weird MPG -  on same road that I use all that time, with rusted disks I managed to get 85 MPG, now 100,8 (without A/C) and my average for 354km dropped rapidly  from 85 MPG to 91 MPG.

I think the weight of the rust causes the difference in consumption. I suppose you have braked away several kilos of rust...  :P

I sometimes overinflate by 0.5 psi in Winter but not in summer.

The fuel saving with ~3 psi would likely be wiped out with premature centre tyre wear ?

Not sure how it affects road holding, especially in heavy rain ?
Let's be careful out there !

This pressure Honda recommend for speed over 160km/h to reduce tyre overheating so 38 psi front and 36 psi rear not something that not allowed, and should not introduce wear in centre of tyre.
If Honda write it on b pillar it’s OKAY, on mine this pressure set  exits.

Tried that pressure set for 160km/h or higher (38psi front and 36 psi rear), can say almost nothing happened to MPG, on trip with speed 80KM/H 120km length i get 3.0L/100KM, in town with speed up to 50KM/H trips 16km (but already warmed engine) infotainment calculated 2,6L/100KM, so maybe i get 0,1L/100KM difference…
So wo prefer more comfortable ride can’t recommend to inflate to this pressure’s unless speed may reach 160km/h or more.

Yes, my B pillar has the ~160kph (100mph)

As I won't be travelling anywhere near that speed, plus, as posted above, the ride will surely be approaching boneshaker territory ?

Given the published max speed is 108mph (173kph) is that speed wise ?
Let's be careful out there !

This set of pressure for driving  99 (100) mph or faster to reduce tyre heating

Almost no changes to comfort, but if you go further to 41psi front then yes will be boneshaking ride, I owned before the Jazz new Suzuki Baleno that with weight 820kg only had pressure set ECO with 41 psi front and 36 psi back and has comfortable ride….

I have arrived at speed, drive settings and adapted to give what I feel is the optimum driving method to suit me.

General driving locally is up to 53mpg when conditions allow in B mode and ecco, climate control always auto varying temp,  and use of any fitted auxiliary like heated seats as required.

When motorway use for distance driving, same auxiliary use but D mode ACC and ecco speed set to 70mph on dual carriageway sections where permitted.

Attached graph shows mpg after each fill and the Accumulative mpg since new.

The dips in fill mpg in all cases attributed to after motorway or distance runs when max permitted speed used where permitted.

I report on here my accumulative mpg in site settings  since that is the real indicator over all conditions, and since settling on settings it and fill mpg naturally increasing towards a settled figure at some point.

Stopped thinking of the multiple variations that may occur as generally I cannot influence ambient conditions, but do monitor tyre pressure.

Latest fill update attached

A week's holiday on the Baltic Sea Coast. Total distance covered 1125 km (700 mi) with a pretty packed Jazz. Mostly roads with a speed limit of 90 or 100 kmh (56 - 62 mph). Small part max. speed 120 kmh (75 mph). Many villages along the way, 50 km/h (31 mph).
Not driven faster than 110 km/h (68 mph).
Consumption over the entire distance according to BC: 3.9 l/100 km (72.4 mpg) In reality 4.11 l/100 km (68.7 mpg).

Good stats Jazzik.

I'm going to Scotland in September for an extended weekend. 177 miles from home and I might do 200 (ish) whilst there so a total of 550 (ish) miles. Some of it motorway - say 200 and the rest on roads that will not really allow much over 50 mph. I'll be delighted if I get late 60s mpg.

This is  calculated simply from fuel fill to top each time/miles covered.
