I've had three sorts of tyres upfront over the last 66k miles, albeit 15", and my thoughts as follows.
Michelin Energy Saver - On the car when we bought it. Lasted for ever, but very noisy and minimal grip. I was glad when they went! They were worse than some Chinese tyres fitted to our other car as far as grip is concerned.
Toyo Proxes Comfort - These were briliant. Very grippy, great handling and quiet. Downside, they wore out far too quickly, approx 25k and they were shot.
Khumo Ecowing ES31 - Less than 2000 miles on these, and so far I am extremely impressed. Similar to the Toyo for grip levels, but quieter and have smoothed the ride a little. Paid just £49.85ea delivered to the door by Camskill.
HTH.
