Cvt juddering 03 SE Sport

Hi all

I got my jazz last year and ever since I’ve had it it’s had the same problem of the dreaded judder when accelerating from a stop.

Was quoted £800 by locks Honda dealer to replace clutch etc.

Used to happen all the time any incline or even when moving. However having looked through other forums and topics I found something being recommended so thought I’d share in case anyone has the same issue.

I used a product called XADO ex120 it’s apparently for most automatic gearboxes, cvt, tiptronic etc. Found mine on eBay.

It’s a small syringe of blue liquid which you put in via the dipstick for the atf fluid. I was doubtful as to how successful it would be but amazingly after barely a mile of driving the judder has gone away altogether. Pulls away smooth as anything now.

Down over a hundred miles since and still working like proper clutch. Can’t recommend it enough.
May not work for some people but fro about £15 I figured it was worth a go.

Good luck fellow jazzians.

The CVT judder is very common, particularly on cars that have not had their CVT fluid changed at the correct intervals. Honda reduced the change interval to 2 years or 25K miles, whichever is the sooner.
Only use the Honda supplied CVT-F fluid, nothing else.

I would suggest that once the magic potion has had time to dissolve the accumulated muck you change the CVT fluid. Most likely what comes out will be very mucky.

I have used Comma CVT oil which is also a substitute of Honda CVT F. Also add XADO additive. It has now resolved my problem.
