Scratches
« on: July 25, 2022, 05:19:15 PM »
My rear offside passenger door is scratched and I seem to be getting more scratches there but I dont why.
Could i be the car wash or can it be that I sometimes I might be driving where vegetation brushes along the panels.
Its only this door thats scratched .
Im wondering if its been resprayed in the past and the paint is softer on that door. Could that be?

I guess the passenger door is more likely to be exposed to pedestrians when you park at the roadside and will certainly be liable to be scratched by hedges and the like when driving down narrow country lanes.

If you use a car wash it will add swirly scratches over time to the car, more noticeable if it's a dark colour.

Also those hand car wash jockeys often have dirty gritty sponges and they cause damage.

Depends where you park also, a colleague always used to open his door onto my car, I soon parked elsewhere!

if it has been resprayed it will def scratch easier as it is softer than factory even using a heat booth

I can vouch for that living in deepest, darkest Cornwall .....  :D
