Reading this had me check my Fabia 2 and it is 0.33. The current Fabia 3 is 0.28.

Sorry to read about the demise of your Mk1 Jocko, I had one and loved it - even more than my current Mk2.

Latest fill data.

Lower mpg due to low ambient and very speedy motorway trip required. Accumulatie mpg dipped below 54.

I haven't filled up since 16th December! That said I think I am on course for my lowest ever mpg in the MK 4. The fibometer is showing 50.4 mpg which, in real terms, will turn out to be 46 (ish).

The weather, coupled with my driving profile this winter, is almost uniquely bad for mpg. Yes hybrids are good round town but not if it's freezing outside and you are burning petrol to keep the car warm. Couple that with a typical journey of no more than 3 or 4 miles, often less and you are never going to get anywhere near 60 mpg.

But a bit of perspective, 46 mpg is 3 mpg better than my overall average in the MK3 so I have to be pleased with that.

No recovery yet from colder weather - 2nd day managed to sit in sun, so getting better, hope mpg follows

Yesterday a short (25 miles) trip, some urban, mainly country roads. Nice weather, sunny, 17, 18℃ Hardly any wind. Average consumption 91.1 mpg. It looks like summer is on its way! :D
I regularly get 65-70 mpg, sometimes quite a bit less (short trips in winter!), sometimes quite a bit more (like yesterday).
However, average consumption, actually measured (Spritmonitor) during almost 20 months is different.
Than you get what you see under my avatar...

Today 110 mile round trip, filled up after 349 miles with 22.7L E10 fuel that equates to 69.83 mpg and the guessometer shows 69.4 mpg, ambient temperature 12C, 90% of mileage on motorways and dual carriageways at 60 to 70mph and a bit more when overtaking, and I’m not really trying to drive super economically so looking forward to higher summer temperatures, OMG I love this car  ;D ;D

Isn't it odd how some cars behave differently.

Regular as clockwork I get 50mpg at 70mph, 60mpg at 60mph and 70mpg at 50mph. Under 50mph I can get up to 100mpg depending on whether I'm averaging 30 or 40 mph or lower.
Let's be careful out there !

So many variables. I've mentioned this before but a big factor for me is short journeys coupled with cold weather. The ICE is a de facto heater in these circumstances. I'm down at mid 40s at best in these scenarios. Now the temp is beginning to climb I'm showing 58.2 on the fibometer so around 54 in real money. Last year I did manage 4 successive tanks at over 60 mpg - this was the sweet spot of warm ambient temperatures and a few longer drives.

It is, though, the most economical car I've ever owned even beating my Golf Diesel.

I agree. The only time my 1.8 auto Civics ever got average 50mpg was following trucks, inside lane, doing about 60mph on the motorway.
Let's be careful out there !

So, after 8500 miles from new, general A/B roads (55/60), town and the occasional short motorway were I touched the 70 mark.. heating on around the 3 bar mark and 18 degrees.. I am seeing an average of 64.3 mpg. Far better than my previous cars, and one I am more than happy with.

It can get a bit like the old Joke   "Why are you unhappy? Last week you won £65 million on the lottery"    "Because  this week I only won £52 million.  >:( "

I can remember when only a few small and underpowered cars  could manage even 40 mpg on a good day.  The mk4 is roomy and quite nippy and many of us average  65 mpg or better.  Rejoice. :-*

My Lexus IS200 had a manufacturer's average mpg of 28mpg but I regularly got 32mpg
