Vehicle health Check Video
« on: October 04, 2022, 05:55:52 PM »
Just had the first annual service on my mk4  Jazz Ex. I was surprised to receive a video by Email  showing my car on the lift , and the camera briefly directed  at each tyre in turn with a commentary quoting  the remaining tread .  (and a mention of 0-25% of brake pad wear.)  29 seconds in total.   I got paperwork with the figures on anyway.

Mine was all OK,  but I assume if  wear was  reaching limits they would video it  in  more  detail , maybe demonstrating the measurement actually being taken ,   and use it as evidence  to persuade you to let them carry out the work.

Its several years  since I last had a main dealer service.  Are these   videos now the norm?

Depends on the dealer. I had that done when the car was in for the first recall at Dunfermline but not at the second here in Edinburgh. Both Western Honda too.
