Dust on the Audio/Navigation screen
« on: September 23, 2021, 11:42:55 AM »
Excessive dust on the Audio/Navigation screen is a problem the screen is like a magnet for dust. Is there anything that could help reduce this..?

These from Aldi might be worth a try. I use them for my tablet screen and my specs. They don't claim to be anti-static. You get 50 for less than a quid.

I carry a large soft microfibre in the door pocket.

Does the job nicely :)
Let's be careful out there !

Be careful  as this screen can be get scratched easily !!!
I already scratched my HU with microfiber
I prefer to use small blower first to blow away as much dust as possible
I found on Japanese Amazon protection film and glass for Honda Connect 9” unit  for Civic 10th gen and new Vezel e:HEV I bought one to check if compatible but this of course will be not compatible for LHD cars

I guess a generic screen protector should work. The sort of thing they sell for ipads etc. It could be cut to size.

There are quite a few already cut to size for MK4 Fit on various overseas sites.

I'll see if I can find one later .....

..... first one I found :

https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Generation-VXU-205FTi-Protective-Navigation-Sensitivity/dp/B092D2HG9B/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=2021%E3%83%9B%E3%83%B3%E3%83%80%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%83%E3%83%88%E3%82%B9%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%B3%E3%83%97%E3%83%AD%E3%83%86%E3%82%AF%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC&qid=1632976386&s=automotive&sr=1-4

Just make sure the buttons are on the correct side as LHD versions seem to have the main buttons on the left, understandable.

All Japan market Honda FIT that i seen on youtube has this head unit installed.
But new Vezel (HR-V) has Honda Connect 9" from factory.
Our Head unit is Honda Connect 9"

Ordered protection film from Amazon Japan
Order delivered today, inside package 2 films
From seller or company Jusby
Size of film not accurate so maybe Vesel have slightly bigger screen , height is ok but  lengths is 1,-2.0 mm bigger then infotainment screen and bottom corners differently shaped, openings for buttons in right position and this is film so I think it can be trimmed with sharp scissors
I ordered only to make mirrored film  (will use this one to cut universal film) because what’s I  ordered can be fitted only on RHD model.
