Washed the car after 2 months and 5,000 miles
« on: August 28, 2021, 08:37:51 PM »
Took advantage of the good weather and gave the car its first wash in two months and 5,000 miles. Needless to say, it was filthy. I gave it two coats of Sno Foam then a rinse off. I then tried the Karcher shampoo for the first time (mixes as you spray). I sprayed it and used the wash mitt, then rinsed it off before spraying and rinsing again. I then gave the car a hand wash using the two bucket method and rinseless wash. It was a hard afternoon's graft. Looks okay though.
Next, I will start on the bodywork!

I'm similar. I 'go to town' when I wash mine and spend a good few hours.

All power washer usage done from a sensible distance:

Karcher spray foam, wait .....
Power washer rinse
Direct power wash to between brake pads and discs (that does remove some muck/dust)
Ditto wheel arches
Bucket and brush with wash'n'wax
Power washer rinse
Vileda window cloth all over (hate chamois)
Meguirs big yellow towel
Waterless wash as it contains wax and does remove any streaks, dried water drops and swirls
Polish off.
Invisible Glass all windows.

Then the inside .......

Let's be careful out there !

Interested in the Waterless wash as, effectively, a quick detailer. I tried using a Turtle Wax product on a very lightly soiled car but it freaked me out a bit and I've still got quite a bit left. Think I might try using it as you do because I sense that it contains a lot more wax than most Quick Detailers.

On a newly washed car it's not there to clean but put a decent wax coat on.

As an example, if I wash & dry the car using wash'n'wax then drop a cloth on the bonnet it stays there.

If I use waterless, I'm currently using Mantis because I bought a job lot and it has carnauba wax, then drop the same cloth on the bonnet, it slides off.

As you hint, I've never used waterless to actually clean, I'd be scared of minute scratches.
Let's be careful out there !

I had to wash a mess of bird droppings off the car this morning. Looks like a flock of sparrows decided to visit. I might try a waterless wash for such an occasion.

I never noticed the black alloys before.

Steel wheels with cheap plastic trims and Honda logos stuck on.
