Hi all,
I'm torn between
a 2004 Jazz (70,000 miles) for £1500
a 2009 Jazz (40,000 miles) for £4000
a 2017 Jazz (15,000 miles) for £11,000
All 3 I believe have catalytic converters in different places. After my friend had his c c nicked from his MK1 Jazz, it's a concern for me. Having said that, if I bought the cheapest option, replacing it for £700 would still be cheaper than buying the 2009.
Any advice would be amazing please.
I can afford any of them, but which is the best value? Which one would you buy?
(also would a cat shield be seen as a modification for car insurance purposes?)
I had Jazz 2004 1.3 dsi 96k miles 900£
And now
Jazz 2013 1.4Vtec SI 50K miles 6000£

Older Jazz started to fail macpherson struts, wheel bearing and i burned clutch going for trip from west midlands to scotland. Great car, sunroof, much more grunt at lower rpms then mk2 jazz. With old one i got 330 to 350miles per tank mixed city and motorway with new one 280miles but i haven't driven so much on motorway.
Obviously it's a newer car with more xtras being SI steering is nicer and car sticks more to a surface  ;D
I miss old Jazz. I got fears of stolen cat every day but it was great car to have.
Looking at the price difference i would get mk1 Jazz. Smtn like 2007 low miles for smtn nicer mk2 but i wouldn't like stock mk2 probably more than SI as i still look back. Mk3 model i don't have any opinion but again i would go for sports version with the turbo personal opinion and they look  8)
If you look at mk1 watch out for wet boot i did fix mine with sika flex  :D

Probably confused you more. But economy mk1 style mk2 with worst economy mk3 i don't know much except expensive and looks good.

I would say go and get a deal on a brand new one on PCP with a hefty deposit. Trade ins are 30-40% up due to the Pandemic and if you order before 31st March you get 5 years free servicing which is worth a few grand !

Ive done PCP for almost 30 years, never had to pay for an MOT, Tyres and always have the latest model. Depends what mileage you do though, I do about 10k a year so it makes sense for me !
