My car (Honda Jazz S, 2008) overheated on the way to work yesterday, smoked out of the bonnet and then the engine packed up. The AA man managed to start it but towed it to the garage anyway. Suspects thermostat jammed or head gasket leaking. Garage say that they need to install a new cooling fan motor (before they can detect any other possibilities. They said that they called Honda who cannot supply the part until 20th November (6 weeks away and no way to get to work!). Also said they couldn’t find any other manufacturers to supply the £310 part. They said the car cannot be driven as it is because it will overheat and break within 2 miles. I’m at a loss at what to do and I can't get to work!

Are you after a radiator fan motor or water pump?

according to the garage it is a cooling fan that is neded.. not sure what that is? Can anyone help/send me a link . I fear that the garage hasn't looked too hard to find one!
