Any Civic Owners Out There?
« on: July 07, 2020, 03:05:56 PM »
I am about to buy a Civic and am looking for a good forum to join, any recommendations?
I have searched on line and Civinfo looks not too bad and plenty of USA ones.
I haven't seen anything that looks as good as Clubjazz.

Civinfo is a very good forum for Civic owners. I used it when I owned my 3 Civics over the years

I have been on Civinfo for a few years, it's OK, I found it very helpful when I migrated from Jazz to Civic nearly 5 years ago.
Not quite as 'political' as this forum though, and not so interested in fuel consumption  !

Been on Civinfo for years as well, they are more interested in modding - and the Civic is a car you can mod and get good performance - I would guess the average age on Civinfo is lower than Clubjazz.... :-X
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Just out of interest Vic, why are you moving to a Civic .....more room, more power or just fancy a change ?
It will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end !

There's also quite an active "detailing" forum on Civinfo.

I reckon he plans to remove the C and I off the name badge and drive around in a Honda Vic.

I am looking for a change. I have owned Jazz's for 14 years, a total of four, two new two used. My son has a Civic and he is selling it, he offered me a good deal so I am going ahead with it. He is taking the Jazz in part-ex and will sell it on when he finds something.
It is a 14 plate ES 1.8 manual with 45K on the clock. It is in excellent nick and is a slate grey in colour. I have found the Jazz to be a good performer if you use the gearbox and the easily available revs but I will relish the increased performance of the 1.8 v-tech engine, fuel consumption isn't something I worry about unless it suddenly drops. I have driven the car on a long road test and as my son is a semi retired garage owner I am confidant in its condition.
Thanks for the reviews of Civinfo everybody.

Vic.

My last Civic was an 07 plate with the 1.8 engine. Lots of poke. You are right about fuel - if you do a modest mileage it's not a biggie and the Civic isn't overly thirsty.

One thing I am pleased about with the model of Civic that I am getting, it is prior to the 2014 September face lift that introduced the 'Infotainment' system, if the Civic version has as many problems as the version fitted to the Jazz.
