Title: K & N Air filter Mk3 2016 Jazz CVT
Post by: Ed the Jazz on November 16, 2020, 09:04:24 PM
Thought people may be interested in the fitment of a K & N Air filter, replacement panel filter, on my 2016 1.3 Jazz CVT Decided to fit one to save on servicing costs as K & N only needs to be cleaned every 50,000 miles, I only do 3000 to 5000 miles per year, but garage was replacing every 2 years even when the filter look clean. Haven't noticed more power or mpg (already in the 50-60+mpg) but have noticed that the car is more responsive to the right pedal and seems to pick up better so i assume breathes better. Anyone fitted a K&N and noticed any difference?

Had K&N on one the Jazz owned a few years ago, felt btter tlasted longer , but on my Subary Turbo much improved & consistent mpg. Worth the investment dont forget to replace before you sell the vehicle.

My experience of using a K&N filter is the same as using 99 octane fuel, it is not cost effective. For the price of a K&N filter you can buy two standard filters plus for the K&N you will need the cleaner and re-oiling kit.
I do not think it is worth it to change.

K&N was £39 so not much more than Honda filter. If it lasts twice the time of a paper filter I'm on the winning side. Plus as the car is more responsive a double whammy. Didn't buy it for any potential performance boost just as a money saver which produces less waste.

Oil from K&N not good for the MAF sensor as I have read on many threads. Somebody will no doubt put me straight !
