Tool tray for Mk3 with fullsize wheel
« on: August 18, 2016, 05:25:26 PM »
Honda India  have a tool tray for use in the 2016 Jazz/Fit that supports the boot floor when a full size spare is carried. This is shown in the youtube photo attached, also the full site address to show the full size wheel being accessed.

Does anyone in the club have a friend/relative who lives in India and could get me the part number of the tool tray?

In the back of my mind floats the thought that if HME in Belgium don't list the part number then a Honda UK dealer can't order it.  This might be one of those things that needs to be imported directly.  But if you were able how to figure it out for 1, then you might as well get 10.

But, looking at an Indian Jazz it has skinnier wheels than European models - 175/70 R14 or 175/65 R15 so the tray is different although removing 10mm may be possible, it certainly does not look like the N.American tray for the spacesaver (or "Box Assy. Cargo Floor" 84550-T5R-A00 or A10 in Honda terms). The spare in the Indian Jazz is also 175/70 R14.  There's no guarantees that the well has the same dimensions either.

US part no. 84550-T5R-A10 is for American skinny wheel.

My dealer ordered one and lo and behold it arrived!

I can't see a part number on mine, the dealer didn't flinch when I said "Spare wheel kit"  he just ordered one. It was in the boot when the car was delivered five days later.

Mine is a space saver spare. All I need to keep me mobile to a tyre repair outfit.

It is strange enough that Honda market 'same' car with different wheels in different regoins, but a 'platform' that is also meant to be the same as the HRV which has both 16 & 17 inch wheels and a thicker boot lid - like the previous Jazz makes me wonder what tool tray the HRV has??

Different wheels and tyres are paired with different suspension components which are specific to the particular market the car is being sold in. UK spec suspension might be too low or too stiff for Asian subcontinent where cars usually get small dia wheels with bigger side walled tyres.

HRV is based off the Jazz platform and in addition to a unique body structure, must also be using totally unique suspension components and even pick up points due to additional height and weight so what tray its using might be irrelevant to Jazz. Platforms are quite modular and are adapted to each use.

Do I read this as you have bought 4 boot trays?  The Indian part?  Do they fit well?  Please share

All that is embossed under my space saver tool tray is "BOX G3".

For those who want to carry a full size spare the floor support required is pt no. 84550-T5S-T30 - BOX ASSY., CARGO FLOOR - supplied for Jazz from India into South Africa where it costs approx. £52, Honda UK want £104 for it.

This is the part that fixes the flimsy floor discussion

Please can I clarify - am I right in thinking if you buy a space saver spare wheel you don't need to strengthen the floor?

As soon as you take out the foam tool tray you need to strengthen the boot floor as it is a piece of cardboard covered in material does not matter what size spare you have underneath.
