2011 Hybrid Spare Wheel
« on: March 14, 2018, 10:40:30 AM »
Hiya,
How much does a genuine spare wheel for this car go for? And where does it get placed? We are considering a Hybrid but all I'm reading about is that the spare wheel is different from other Honda space saving wheels. My wife definitely wants a spare wheel to go in the car as well.

Jazz Hybrid does not have an official temporary spare wheel kit, as there is no room for it in the well because that's where the hybrid battery is, so there would be no where to secure the wheel.

I asked Honda for a price for a spare alloy wheel and I was quoted £360 for just the wheel, so a tyre as well it would be around £420.

So after a bit of research I bought a full-sized steel wheel from Ebay that was the same size as the alloys so that its road legal for driving tests, and no need to be limited to 50 mph. Bear in mind that lots of wheels fit various car models, so my spare wheel was advertised as a Corsa wheel. I then got a matching tyre fitted and keep it in the boot in a wheel bag.

The spare wheel is a snug fit in the boot so doesn't rattle around, I just take it out of the boot for the mot.

I have just found this ! ! !

The E bay wheel in the photo looks like it has the TPMS valve fitted - a rare thing on used alloys.
Worth checking if you new Jazz has the same type of valve - if not a light will come up .

I think the new car does have a tyre pressure monitor, I will have to have a read of the manual.
