Michelin say it's OK to go right to the legal limit with tyres
« on: October 06, 2016, 02:18:57 PM »
Interesting snippet from Honest John's column in the Telegraph:

http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/products/2016-09/michelin-dismisses-advice-to-change-tyres-before-they-reach-minimum-tread-depth/

Michelin are now rubbishing the advice that you should change your tyres before they reach the legal limit of 1.6 mm tread depth. They say good quality tyres should perform well right up to the 1.6 mm limit and that it is wasteful to comply with some advice that suggests replacement at 3 mm.

Environmental factors are quoted and also cost.

Interesting.
