Unread post since last visit
« on: May 07, 2015, 08:49:12 AM »
Hi Richard,

I'm not sure if its my settings or what but when i visit the forum, i usually just click on the "Unread post since last visit" and go through them.

However, i've noticed this week that it doesnt display any post but i can see there are post that i havent seen or read since my last visit.

Is it something that i've done or there an error on the forum?

Thanks

Gary

Cookies not been cleared or settings changed and I believe I've ticked the box where it says leave me logged on all the time on signing in so i dont need to sign in with username and pw all the time.

I've came back on just now after posting this this morning and have 4 unread so seem to have sorted itself out?

Will found out tomorrow lol

Unread posts since last visit displays new posts made to the forum since your last visit. Come your next visit they will be removed even if unread.

I thought unread post is literally any new post since my last visit?

If so, not working for me.

This is what i always do on forums that i frequent - scan through the new post and reply accordingly

"Latest" links to the unread posts since last visit and only those FROM that point in time.

If there are none, you'll see below:

No unread topics found since your last visit. "Click here to try all unread topics".

Click on the right hand half of that line and you'll see ALL those marked "unread", even those before the last visit that remained unread.

I didn't know this either, handy to know as if I only have ten minutes or so I simply pop in to say hello to new members, check the error logs and new member profiles and then read the new posts later on.
