Voice Commands
« on: March 22, 2024, 04:31:16 PM »
I've just been reading an article on The Daily Telegraph about how motorists hate touch screens to control often-used functions. I know my Crosstar doesn't particularly suffer from this problem, but I recall that when I first had the car I tried to work out what voice commands I could use. I wanted to use commands to change the radio station but never managed to work out the syntax. I only ever use "Go Home" on the satnav.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of accepted commands to use?

All listed in the manual under Voice Control in the index.

You can't use voice commands to change radio stations, Ive tried all possible commands, but you can use the arrow buttons on the steering wheel to scroll though your presets.

I've tried voice control on various Civics and it's been a disaster with it doing something unrelated

Never use it now
Let's be careful out there !

Never used it, on the Jazz or previous cars. Never will. The only function I might use would be the volume control on the steering wheel, or the skip a track arrows on the consul... and these rarely.

I've never used it either.   Perhaps I shouldnt say  but I sometimes amuse myself trying silly voices and  regional accents  on my Alexa  smart speaker at home.  It usually still works OK  ;D    Its better if I am not tempted to such silliness in the car as well  :-[

I find it works quite well to call someone in your favourites list without having to poke the screen.

Thanks for all your replies. Not sure how I missed the blindingly obvious commands in the manual, but at least now I can have a play.

...I only use the long press which will bring up your Android or Apple voice assistant. Which works well.
The short press to bring up the Honda assistant has never understood me on any command given!

...The voice command button.
Just pressing it will bring up the Honda voice assistant. If you keep the button pressed for an extra second or so it will bring up the voice assistant of your phone if it is connected via Android Auto / Apple Car Play.
