Are these the symptoms of pcv valve failure ?
« on: January 22, 2024, 03:36:33 PM »
I seek advice on my first-gen Honda Jazz GD1 (2006) due to the following observations:

White Smoke (not condensation) : Notably noticed, especially during the use of AC/Heating or while reversing.

Gas Smell: There’s a mild gas odor accompanying the white smoke.

Oil Consumption: Experiencing increased oil consumption, leading to concerns.

MPG Decline: A substantial drop in miles per gallon (MPG) from 44 to 32.

No Leaks: Despite the issues, there are no oil or coolant leaks.

Oil Condition: The oil has been checked and appears to be in good condition, with no milky residue in the radiator.

Whistling Sound: Noted a whistling sound from the air vents during startup.

Rough Idle: Idles rough at the start at about 1500 rpm but after 10 min drives, rpm comes down to normal at about 900 rpm.

Considering these symptoms, I’m contemplating whether a potential PCV valve failure could be the root cause. Your insights on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
