Shetland has had more hours of sunshine than the south of England this year. Pity I don't live in Shetland and it isn't a regular occurrence. I have lived on the west coast, now living in the east I don't go west of Stirling without a raincoat.  :-)

I live in Kirkcaldy, so know what the weather on the East Coast is like! I spent 9 years living and working in Gourock. When I was first going through and was told the West coast was wet I thought, Fife is wet, how wet can it be? I think it rained, at sometime, every day I was there!

I am a little to the west of you, same side of the river, we will get the same weather. (Good at the moment but don't expect it to last).
