Any tyre recs for 185/55/R16 wheels?

I'm having some difficulty choosing the replacement tyres for my 2010 EX with the 185/55/R16 tyre size. Does anyone have any recommendations for good quality tyres for light (5000 annual miles) town & A-road driving?

I probably won't change to a different tyre size as I only need the front tyres being replaced but willing to look at all brands.

I run my MK3 on Bridgestone the same size as you are looking for.
Got 25,000 miles on the front tyres before changing them.

How are these for Tyre Noise?

My bridgestone need changing and I've been considering them due to their 'on paper' low road noise.

Quiet, compliant and with a very comfortable ride.

They have completely changed the car for the better from the original Dunlop tyres.

I was really very surprised and, to be honest, quietly thrilled by the result.

I had thought of going down in size to 15" rims but I am very pleased I did not.

They have made a good car excellent.

Mine are 14" in steel whiles, but I find them quiet on good road surfaces and they seem to grip brilliantly. There is a curved on-ramp up to the M90 with a 30 mph advisory and I can comfortably take the inside lane at 50 mph, even in the wet.
