Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Mk4 2021 Jazz Brake failure

A question for the guys who have had the repair, have they simply replaced ‘like for like’ or is it a new modified part?

If it is the same part are you just looking at same potential  scenario again a few years down the line…. I have failed to see a post with this, apologise if I have missed it.

I owned my 23 plated Jazz Advance few weeks now and love it.  (Ex demo 1500 miles when bought) now done 3000 miles and in for first its first  annual service next week. I have another two years  Honda warranty but I will most likely buy extended warranty for another 3 years… making 6 years.. peace mind really. Not so much because of this issue, but other issues that may surface when you drive car designed like an Apple mac

My faulty brake simulator was recently replaced by a local Honda garage but I have no idea whether this was a part that has been modified to prevent a future occurrence of the fault and neither does the garage that fitted it. However, I don’t intend to hang on to the car long enough to find out. I will be trading it for a Kia in the near future.

It's very wise to include a trolley jack as aphybrid has done, I found it next to impossible to use a regular screw jack, the car is extremely heavy, we bought an electric one, press a button & up she goes. Only had to use it the once but a Godsend.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: Tyre deflation false alarms

I'm such an old school motorist, that I feel the flat tyre. I don't want or care about usually false warnings.

That's what I think, an experienced driver will usually 'feel' a deflating tyre.  However these TPMS aren't just optional extras but mandatory requirements on new cars since 2012 in the UK.  So they should work properly and presumably the car would fail its MOT if they don't.
The legislation in UK or even in my country does not make it any less annoying.

It recognizes the difference in abs sensor pulse rate comparing all four wheels. It does not sense the pressure itself.

I don't know if it's still the same but years ago I checked prices and Honda wanted circa £30 for a replacement bottle but Tyreweld was just £10

I frequently read in Which? magazine about people who have managed to get companies to act FOC for certain product failures up to 6 years

I wonder how that translates to this obvious manufacturing fault

Don't use Polarised lens! The sreen looks like it has been distorted when you look into it!

https://www.youngeroptics.com.au/did-you-know/why-do-some-screens-look-weird-through-polarized-sunglasses/#:~:text=This%20phenomenon%20occurs%20because%20the,or%20dark%20screen%20or%20display.

Rubbish. Been using polarised clip-ons for 30 years or more. I think that link is referring to very old toughened windscreens, you certainly don’t get that effect with modern laminated glass. And the comments about device screens refers to lcd displays, not modern led screens (as the final sentence acknowledges).
Just because someone’s written something on the internet doesn’t mean it’s true!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I forgot to mention I actually had a pair. I looked into my 2009 Seat Ibiza's stereo display and it looked as though the screen has been damaged! So I switched it off and on again but display was same. Later I put my normal glasses on and looked at it and all the distortion was gone!

A week later I went to McDonald's and forgot to take my polarised sun glasses off. The whole self service screen was distorted! I popped into my local boots opticians and the Optometrist told me polarised lens can distort display.

I can't comment on the LED screen because I didn't get to experience it on modern cars. Also my sunglasses had the polarised lens fitted, and weren't clip ons. As for the article, it was a point of reference so I can't assess it through a professional capacity. But as you mentioned looking out off the windscreen, the polarised lens worked well as any sunglasses I have had previously. Infact my friends who love fishing swears by them.

Jinbeizame - The full price should be no more than £1800 for parts and labour including VAT, with Honda goodwill around £1350 but essentially for a safety manufacturing fault as you have evidence for it should cost you nothing.

BTW, Stoneacre has quoted a staggering £2,021.63 (w/VAT or W/O I don't know) for the replacement Simulator before labour.

That's for sure the "Gold" version!

As far as I hear from Japan, Honda has switched the component manufacturer from Keisan (京三製作所)to somebody else.  So, no repeat of the same problem, I guess. BTW, Stoneacre has quoted a staggering £2,021.63 (w/VAT or W/O I don't know) for the replacement Simulator before labour.
