Hi, my name is Steve and this is my first Honda Jazz. I was lucky to find a clean example and purchased it just after Christmas 2011.  :)
It's a 2002 Jazz 1.4S GD1, one owner from new, full service history and only 26,000 miles on the clock.  8)

29th December 2011:
Purchased my Jazz from my local Honda dealership.

30th December 2011:
Gave the car a bit of a clean...

13th January 2012:
Purchased some new FK Automotive Lowering Springs (to reduce the arch gap and stiffen the ride slightly).

14th January 2012:
Fitted the new -35mm Springs.

22nd January 2012:
Fitted my 7"x15" ET30 Rota RB's and 195/50/15 Toyo R888's (off of my old Toyota Levin) to check if they fit.

25th January 2012:
Made my own front Camber Bolts and installed them.

Before (front tyres protruding from the arches):

After (tucked nicely inside, no more rubbing):

26th January 2012:
Took my car to my local tyre fitters to have the front suspension laser aligned (to my own settings).
Here are my figures...

Front
Total toe: -2.0mm (Toe Out)
Half toe: -1.0mm (Toe Out)
Camber: -1.75 degrees

Rear*
Total toe: +1.0mm (Toe In)
Half toe: +0.5mm (Toe In)
Camber: -1.15 degrees

* = Note: I didn't have the rear adjusted as its a fixed beam axle.

There isn't much else i want to do to the car really, maybe fit a K&N panel filter, change the head unit for a CD version and add some speakers to the rear doors.
Apart from that, i'm just going to enjoy her... It's a treat for me to get 50+ mpg, my previous car (a JDM Toyota Levin) only gave me an average of 25mpg, lol.

Thanks for looking,
Steve.

Yep. I'm very impressed, lol. Good guess work.  ;)

I guess you must live nearby... I'm about 15 a minute drive from there.

I'm about 20mins away.

You're lucky to find one that old with only 26k on the clock.

Yeah, it is in a really good condition too.
I only found it by chance... I was on the lookout for a new car so decided to pop in and see what they had.
The price was good and the car looked really clean, so i snapped it up there and then.  :)

Neat work & lovely car.  Does the suspension mod have much impact on your insurance costs?

No, it only added a couple of £'s onto my premium. I've been with Adrian Flux for several years, even my highly modified Civic that I used to own only cost me £285 a year (fully comp).

Another little update...

I was getting a bit fed up of the look of the long stock aerial on my GD1, so I ordered a Tegiwa Bee Sting Aerial off of eBay. It unfortunately didn't fit my Jazz very well as it was designed for the Civic, and therefore the base diameter was too large.

A few minutes spent on the lathe at work, and it now fits.  ;)
I reduced the length by about 10mm to give the new aerial the same base diameter as the OEM aerial (11mm).

After modification:

And fitted to the car:

I much prefer the new look compared to the 770mm long aerial that was on there before. And as i can still get radio reception, i'm quite happy.  ;D

I take it that you turned down the end with the stud thus reducing the diameter on the taper and thus not removing any anodizing?

Very neat - I had 2 of these stingers nicked from my Civic over 9 years.

Yep, got it in one.  8)
Just had to drill and tap the hole a little deeper before re-fitting the stud.

Luckily i never had the aerial stolen from my Civic, must have been the studlock i applied to the threads.  ;)

The ideal way to adjust the camber of your front wheels would be by using a pair of purpose made Camber Bolts. Eibach make such items...
The Eibach part number for the GD is: 5.81250K. These are 12mm bolts.
I'm not sure what size you require for the GE, but you may need 14mm bolts (part number: 5.81260K)

I would have used Eibach camber bolts, but i was sold the wrong size (14mm instead of 12mm), so ended up making my own.

The Eibach camber bolts are adjustable items that replace the upper 12mm bolt that attaches the strut to the hub (see picture below). You can fit them either way round, giving you a total amount of adjustment of +/- 1.75 degrees.  ;)

Once fitted, you can either get the car re-aligned to the stock setting, or adjust the toe & camber to give you better grip and feel.

Send me a PM if you want to discuss it any furthur. If you need the 14mm Eibach camber bolts, give me a shout, i can send you my ones as they were too big for my GD1.

Time to have a look at your build thread, heheh.  ;)
