Hi,

Not too sure what you mean by black tape.

When I bought my Jazz about a year ago, I noticed about 20 or so, pin head size chips on the drivers side door pillar.

There were none on the passenger side, which puzzled me at first.

I tried to get the dealer to spray the jamb, to no avail ; but he did touch them in.

I worked out, that when the previous owner, was getting out of the car and released the seat belt, she "let it fly".

On a bad day, the metal bit on the belt,"could take yer eye out", or ping the pillar and take the paint off!

thanks for youre reply

the black on the pillar is wide black tape as it wraps around the inside of the door, think most cars have it now as my 66 yaris did too

but if it looks ok with black paint touch up that should be ok, i was just affraid of it peeling off if the cuts in the tape spread

If it's what I think you mean, it's plastic wrap - you can buy it from auto bodyparts suppliers in various colours and surface finishes from rough matt to gloss, to match your existing pillars.

You can DIY, there are lots of guides out there, try youtube.
