New tyres, new size
« on: October 05, 2019, 06:24:30 AM »
Picked up some new tyres today, 185/55 were both expensive and tricky to find so changed to a 195/50 R16.

Tyres are Achilles ATR Sport 2, had some in our GD1 and was impressed.

Great tyres and a great price.

The wider tyre is also fine on the factory 6J rim.

Hi, i was thinking of going for the 195 wider tyre but keeping the 55 profile for ride comfort.
How is the feel of the 50 and also has your speedo, steering been affected?

Anymore pictures preferably of the side to see the gap between the arches?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have just installed shocks and springs from a 2019 Jazz RS at the same time as putting the tyres on so altogether it is definitely firmer than before, I have also not checked what pressure they put into the tyres.

It looks better in person than in the pictures, maybe not the best angle.

You could easily go for a 195/55, I was going to go for a 205/50 which is exactly the same as the 185/55.

This is great: https://tiresize.com/calculator/

Speedo not affected by much, according to GPS its 2-3km off.
