It is my understanding from Crown Honda that the filter was included. I must admit to not getting this in writing, as being 'OldSchool' , I just accepted that

Dear all

I was hoping you could help me with a simply query (which may also help everyone else with the recall), particularly 'Basil', 'Pebbles', 'Beanbag' and 'Krs' who have responded on this topic.

You will see at the start of this thread that I had my recall done back in January. At he time, I asked the dealer (Johnsons Honda Milton Keynes) if this work included the fuel filter (the outer assembly) and they said no and that only the fuel pump was subject to the recall. They did however say that if I wanted to replace the fuel filter (the outer assembly) at the same time, they would be happy to do this at an additional cost. I chose to do this to avoid the need to reopen the central console a year later when the filter needing replacing as part of the service schedule (I ended up purchasing a fuel filter for £74.90 from Cox Motor Parts online and the dealer fitted this at a cost of £28.80).

Subsequent to the above, I have been following this thread closely online and it would appear as if some members have also had the fuel filter (the outer assembly) replaced at zero cost as part of the recall and not just the fuel pump.

I have just telephoned Johnsons Honda MK about this inconsistency and the Service Advisor insisted that the recall only relates to the fuel pump and that if other dealerships have been replacing the fuel filter as part of this, that is down to them & would be at their own cost and is not covered by the recall.

I would like to write to Honda UK about this inconsistent approach among dealerships, but to do so, I need details (just the name and location) of any dealerships who have replaced the fuel filter as part of the fuel pump recall at no extra cost.

If I get a sufficient response, I’ll then write to Honda UK and let everyone know the outcome.

Many thanks in advance.

I spray the "lump" with GT85 or WD40 and give it a wipe over, the engine bay in the Jazz seems well sealed and insulated from road debris and water spray, much better than some cars I have owned, I always use the "let it drop" method for closing the bonnet and watch the indicators flash to ensure it's properly closed

On a side note I also love the bonnet release mechanism under the bonnet; it’s quite a complex affair and it’s also quite beefy!
Another opportunity to inform new mk 4 owners something that was raised some time ago.

On some cars the bonnet will  not always fully latch  closed if you just press down on it. Its quite obvious it hasnt fully closed ,although it will still be retained by the safety catch .

It  latches properly if you just let the bonnet slam shut by dropping it from a bit of a height. (maybe 30 cm)  If you find dropping unacceptable I think the latch can be adjusted ,but getting it exactly right is fiddly.  I never bothered.

As the title states. When I try and start the car it sort of judders on each crank turn but doesn't fire, then after about 10 cranks it starts up and the engine sounds normal. It has gone into limp mode though when driving.

Any ideas? crank sensor maybe?

I agree.  The only exception is the Bright alloy used for the  big 'lump' of stuff to the right of the engine.

My 6 month old car  has white powdery deposits which I assume is  aluminium oxide corrosion  (Al₂O₃)  . This might become more pronounced over time ,although my  previous Mk4 had it too and was no worse at 3 years old.

I'm not particularly bothered by it   (out of sight out of mind  :P) but could possibly polish it up and apply some sort of protective coating if it doesnt get too hot.
Mostly laziness but when I try to judge a car by the cleanliness of its engine bay  I prefer some honest dust  and signs of age, rather than newly valeted. 8)

LV mine also has some very slight oxidation in that area but I’m not worried by it. I’m guessing it’s got something to do with the hybrid system (inverter etc!) and I’ve decided to leave it well alone; It looks great at the moment and pretty much like brand new

On a side note I also love the bonnet release mechanism under the bonnet; it’s quite a complex affair and it’s also quite beefy!

Depends on whether your headunit is compatible with the factory camera, I suggest you contact the manufacturer for advice.

Avoid internet cheap copy parts, find a local car parts shop which can supply Denso or Febi 02 sensors.

as far as I saw, the CAT is still original. The car comes from Italy, and was brought to my country (Slovakia) at  approximately 130-140k km. Could it be really on its way out? We had a Jazz with similar mileage and same specs and never had such issues.

Regarding O2 Sensors, I can run some measurments through simple OBD diagnostics, but really don't know what to look for. Either way, the upper O2 sensor is going to get replaced (we cannot get it off easily to inspect, so its gonna get removed "destructively") since I got recommendations that it might cause issues. Sent my dad to order a replacement one at local car parts dealer coz I'm not home and will definetly update about it at the end of the week.

Also mentioned the fuel consumption was improved, but didn't mention any figures. Before EGR cleanup I was getting 5.8-6.2L/100km (45-48 British MPG) and after the EGR tackled I dropped to 5.2-5.5 (51-54). These values are taken from trip meter (not calculating between fill-ups) and generally 70-80 percent of the time the Jazz is occupied with 4 ppl with luggage with almost no highways (max 90-105kph)
