Route “avoiding toll roads” on Sat Nav.
« on: April 28, 2024, 05:03:47 PM »
On my previous handheld satnav, when routing, I was able to select an option of “avoid toll roads”.

Is it possible to do this, on the inbuilt, Garmin unit?

I could find no reference to this, in the instruction book.

I always find it offers me the alternative route, but only if the route I programme in is reached quicker via a toll. If for instance I look for a route in East Yorkshire, and I am setting off from my home in Lincolnshire I know I will be going over the Humber bridge. The Garmin will tell me that this is a toll route, and ask me if I wish to avoid it.
I haven't programmed or found an instruction in the menu to do this.. the Garmin just asks me automatically.

The same is possible with the built-in satnav: Go to Navigation -> Settings -> Navigation -> Avoidances -> Tolls and Fees

(online satnav manual p 36)
