Leaky boot agian
« on: December 31, 2019, 05:59:37 PM »
hi All. I've seen quite a few messages and replies about the Jazz leaky boots from 2004 to 2014. Any updates after this?
I know where the water is getting in in my 2003 Jazz (right side, roof gutter and support bolts) but after putting yet another layer on, the water is still getting in. I'll need to remove all the old stuff that is cracked and flaky back to metal and get a layer of Sikaflex on it. (Some body shop once advised me to use bathtub filler but I now know this isn't the best option.)

Well and good but I have a couple of questions:

What is the best way to remove the old sealer?
Best way to prepare the metal?
Where can I go to have this done for me? I asked the last time I was at a Honda dealer and they weren't interested.  I've also asked at body shops and no one will do this. I'm an old lady! What I want is the leak stopped permanently; those few months of dry are bliss.

Anyone help me here?

I surprised bodyshops won't entertain this. Do you have a trusted DIY-enabled friend or family member who could follow the instructions  in the link above?
